Featured Nutrient Boron

The trace mineral, Boron, found in our oceans, rock, soil, and plants, is an essential nutrient for plant growth. Only recently noticed for role in human health, and still not yet recognized by The FDA as an essential nutrient, different web sources indicate dietary elemental boron may be helpful for:
  • joint inflammation
  • cognitive function
  • bone health
  • sex hormones
  • immune system
  • parasites
  • candida albicans
Boron's chemistry plays role with nutrients: vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, copper, methionine, and arginine.

Mineral Balance: Too much Fluoride may lower Boron levels. Works with Copper. Tests show Boron increases the amount of Magnesium absorbed by tissue. In other nutrient-nutrient reaction, Elemental Boron brings vitamin D to a more active form and hence has been shown to improve calcium absorption, immune function, and metal elimination.

Food Sources: Raisins, Prunes, Pear, Cauliflower, Almonds, Hazelnuts, Cashews, Bee Pollen.
